Using the Cricut to make Center pieces

Never thought to make my own center piece but its definitely a must do if you are planning a party! I found this on Polka dots and Parties website and love this idea, adding cake pops to this center piece will make it the highlight of your party. The Sweet Treats cartridge was released back in 2009 one that I think I’m going to need to add to my collection.

Cricut Designs – Nike Shoe cake using Cricut Cake





Here’s a great Cricut Cake Design which kids will love. June and July have been a very busy month for me with tons of birthday parties, so I finally got the Cricut DesignStudio Software with Bonus Pack (click here) and convinced my sister to make a few SVG files for me. For my son’s 11th birthday I made him a fully edible Nike Jordan shoe cake. The inside the shoe was made w rice crispy treats, covered with a layer of fondant with additional layers made out of fondant and gum paste. This was my very first cake and i’m quite proud of how nice the shoe came out. The different layers on the cake was molded by hand but the Jordan and Nike symbols were cut using the cricut. The shoe took me about 48 hours to make but well worth it. If you’re still thinking about buying a cricut cake, click here to get great deals on ebay

Most of these designs do not exist in Cartridges, so you’ll have to design your own. It’s quite easy if you know anyone who can draw. All you need to make anything you can imagine is by using the special Design Studio Software (click here).
